The city of Meknes

Meknes is a City in the north of Morocco, 130km or 81 mi away from rabat the capital of the country and 60 km or 37mi away from the imperial city of Fes. Meknes was the Capital of the Country when Moulay Ismail was on the reign, and then came to Marrakesh to become the Capitale. Meknes is the Mane city in the Meknes-Tafilalet region of Morocco.

Volubilis and the Roman ruins

Volubilis is an archaeological site in Morocco situated near Meknes between Fez and Rabat along the N13 road. The nearest town is Moulay Idriss. Volubilis features the best preserved ruins in this part of northern Africa. In 1997 the site was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
